Calculator information
Your saved progress is stored in your browser on your device. When you view Results, the figures required for the hourly energy calculation are sent securely to the site’s server, processed for that request and returned to your browser. Homeowner Toolkit does not save those calculation inputs or results in its analytics database.
Location and solar estimates
When you request a location-based estimate, your postcode or selected county and the solar-system details are sent to the site’s server. A postcode is used with postcodes.io to obtain approximate coordinates; a county selection uses a representative location stored by Homeowner Toolkit. Those coordinates and system details are then sent to the European Commission’s PVGIS service for weather and solar data. A calculated response may be held temporarily in server memory to improve performance.
Anonymous analytics
The site records aggregate page views using only the page address, calendar date and a broad device category: mobile, tablet or desktop. It does not set an analytics cookie or store a unique visitor identifier, calculator values or IP address in the analytics database.
Feedback
If you send feedback, the site stores your selected feedback type, message, the page you came from and the submission time. The form does not ask for your name, email address or other contact details. Please do not include personal or sensitive information in your message. Feedback is used only to improve the toolkit.
Hosting and security
The hosting provider may process standard technical request information, such as an IP address and browser details, to deliver and protect the site. Homeowner Toolkit does not use that information to build visitor profiles.
Your choices
You can remove saved calculator progress by clearing this site’s data in your browser. Server calculations are not attached to a Homeowner Toolkit account, and anonymous page-view totals cannot be linked back to an individual visitor.
